When I went on our Budapest / Vienna / Salzburg trip a few weeks ago, I was sure that Budapest would be my favorite part. I was so wrong.
Vienna was perfect. It was probably the most visually appealing city that I’ve been to in forever. I fell in love and I’m so excited to be returning this weekend.
We arrived around 11 and wandered around the market and ordered some kasekrainer sausage (a sausage filled with melted cheese that just oozes into your mouth when you take a bite). Afterwards we took a short walking tour around the city and visited some of the major sites like, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Hofburg Palace, Heldenplatz, Volksgarten, and the Rathaus.
After the walking tour we went to eat at a delicious Austrian style food place called Schilling 7sternplatz, where I ordered a small plate of goulash as well as a plate of spaetzle, which is german mac n’cheese. ITS MY FAVORITE THING EVER.
Later that evening we went out to a group of bars labeled the “Bermuda Triangle.” I only experienced one bar, but as I’m headed there again this weekend, I’m looking forward to seeing some more of them.
