Paris City Guide
Making a Paris City Guide is extremely tough for me! After studying there for four months, three years ago, narrowing down my favorite places is really hard for me! So, this will be based off of my trip from last month. I may throw in some favorites of mine though for good measure!
To Eat:
La Terrasse (7th Arrondismont)
Go here for lunch. Order a Croque Madame. This was in my neighborhood where I lived while studying and everytime I return to Paris, I take people here.
Cafe le George V
Order the steak and frites with the Bernaise sauce. Follow up with the Chocolate Mousse. You can’t go wrong with this order! The charming restaurant, located on the right bank, offers the perfect view on your way in of the stunning Le Tour Eiffel.
Le Rostand
Located right across the street from the Luxembourg Gardens, this is a great place to stop in for some afternoon champagne and dessert!
Le Campanella (7th Arrondismont)
Order the Duck. Thats all I can say. Whether it is the Duck Breast or the Duck Confit, you need to order it! When we went we had a dessert special – a chocolate eclair that melted in your mouth. This was hands down the best dinner we had during our stay this time around.
Le Refuges des Fondues
You can find this tiny fondue restaurant in Montmarte, steps away from Sacre Coure. Be sure to either get there early or make a reservation as it fills up rather quickly! Drink wine from baby bottles and enjoy delicious cheese or meat fondue.
Triaduo Haussmann
If you’re looking for a place to head for an afternoon snack after a day filled with shopping at the many Parisian department stores, look no further. The cafe has delicious sandwiches to munch on.
Frog XVI (Trocadero)
Perfect for after dinner drinks and dessert. Filled with tons of young people and tasty food and fairly priced drinks!
To Do:
Visit the Eiffel Tower – Make reservations if you can!
Head to Versailles – Try to get there early because during the high seasons, the lines are endless.
Wander around the Louvre – You can literally spends days in here and still not see everything!
Stroll through the Tuileries Gardens – My favorite garden in Paris.
Shop at Galleries Lafayette and browse the gorgeous selections of luxury goods the store offers – Also pick up macaroons in their shoe section from Pierre Hermes — the best macaroons ever!
If you have time explore the Catacombs – the line tends to be long because only a certain amount of people can be inside at a time, but this is hands down one of my favorite things I’ve ever done in Paris.
Attend Mass at Notre Dame and see the stunning church, if you don’t have time to do that, make sure you walk through it (its free!).
Take in the views from the top of the Arc d’Triumph and follow it up with a stroll down the Champs’elysee.
