To Eat

Westminster Arms

My first meal of the New Year ended up being Fish and Chips and they were SO GOOD here. It’s right down the road from Westminster Abbey, which makes it a perfect lunch spot after exploring the gorgeous church.

Stanhope Arms

Located in Kensington, down the block from the hotel we stayed at, this pub really lets you feel like a local. We watched part of a football (soccer) game here and had a few beers and burgers… I enjoyed the chicken burger and would definitely head to this spot again if I find myself in London again (which will happen at some point).

The Balcon

Do as the English do, right? And that means having afternoon tea. The selection at The Balcon, which is located in the Sofitel St. James Hotel, was so delicious. We had scones, finger sandwiches, pastries and champagne along with tea. I chose the Jasmine Tea and was very happy with my decision. I actually found a great deal online which saved us a ton of money!

Goat (Chelsea)

We asked our friends who live in Chelsea where a delicious place to eat dinner would be and they recommended Goat. I am so happy that they did because it was one of the best meals I’ve had in months. My friend and I split two pizzas: the Gorgonzola Pizza and Italian Sausage Pizza… I know I live in Italy and everything, but they gave some of the pizzas I’ve eaten in Florence a run for their money. I sipped on a few Rhubarb Bellinis and some cucumber tap water (which was actually free and so tasty).

 The Bluebird Cafe (Chelsea)

Anywhere I go and see an Eggs Benedict on the menu and it lives up to my standards, they receive my stamp of approval. This place was so cute, the decor and environment just created the perfect ambiance for my meal.

The Bluebird (Chelsea)

Just upstairs from The Bluebird Cafe, The Bluebird is the slightly chicer version of the cafe. We went for drinks here (I had the Lavender Blu cocktail), and I was seriously impressed by the selection of cocktails. I also felt very cool because the bar and restaurant serve as a huge hangout spot for the cast of Made in Chelsea…

 Duck and Waffle

BY FAR THE BEST MEAL I’VE EVER HAD. Literally. If you know you’ll be in London, please make a reservation for dinner as soon as you book your plane ticket. I booked our reservation for dinner two months in advance and still, the only available reservation was at 10:30 PM. And let me tell you, it was more than worth it. The view from the restaurant window is incredible, as it is located on the top level of the Heron Tower. Our meal consisted of bacon wrapped dates, guanciale & welsh goat’s cheese bread, wild cornish pollock meatballs, and then we each ordered a duck and waffle. I give them 100 stars.
