I have been getting a lot of questions about why and how I’m moving to London in February. So I figured it was about time to write a blog post about it. This year I’m going to try and share some more personal blog posts so I think this is a great place to start! Moving to London has been something I have wanted to do for years and it seemed like the perfect time to just go for it. So without further ado, here are the reasons I’m moving to London and how I’m doing it!
Why I’m Moving To London
It’s Time For A Change
I’ve been having a bit of a struggle lately with the way I’ve been living my life. I am so grateful to be able to do what I do, but it gets pretty lonely doing it all alone and then returning home to a place you don’t really love. I have lived in Florida for three years now and while the weather is great, I haven’t felt much of a connection to the actual place. Creating a connection to my town was hard for me because I’m constantly on the go. In the three years, I have lived here, I’ve only met a handful of people and can call less, my friends.
I’m Searching For A Community
Speaking of which, I’m really just looking for a community of people. I haven’t had a solid group of friends since I lived in Italy and that is really tough. Even though I’m always around different people, I still feel lonely because none of my relationships have the opportunity to progress past the surface level.
I’m really interested in finding a group of friends who I get along with really well and can be 100% myself with. I think that London is a great place to do this because there are so many types of people there. I know I have to make a conscious effort when I arrive to really put myself out there!
Location, Location, Location
Being based in London is way better than being based in Florida. I’m not in a major city and while there are three airports near me now, they don’t have a ton of direct (or inexpensive) flights. Being based in London gives me the opportunity to travel all around Europe for next to nothing and hop over to Africa for a fraction of what it would cost me from Florida.
I Want To Grow My Business
Travel Colorfully is one year old, and I want to continue growing it! I think that London is a great place for me to grow my business because there are a ton of people I can collaborate with there. There are also so many wonderful agencies and companies who are interested in working with Travel Colorfully which means lots of great content coming this year!
How I’m Moving To London
That Magic Passport
I’m really lucky. I have a European Passport. My Mom was born in Malta and because of that, I was able to get dual citizenship. My European Passport is basically my ticket to living in London. The cut off for EU citizens is March 2019, so I have enough time to start living there before the Brexit cut off!
