Here it is! The ultimate (okay, probably not the ultimate, but a pretty great one) guide to finding the best murals in New York City. Some of these I’ve found by stumbling upon them, and others I’ve used some guides, like this one (Jennifer has way more murals on hers and includes the artists information so definitely check her’s out – she also has guides to Chicago and LA), to scope them out. I think that finding murals should be collaborative because there are so many of them. So if you know of any other ones for me to add to the list, please let me know!
I’m even happy to share a little map with you on how to get to the murals in New York City that can be found in the LES/NOLITA area!
A Guide To Finding Murals In New York City
LES/NOLITA
Stop 1
Essex Street Market
120 Essex Street, NY, NY 10002
This mural was on the side of a grocery store! It was a bit crowded out front, so we definitely had an audience while snapping photos here, but let’s face it, the best murals in New York will draw a crowd!
Stop 2
87 Rivington Street, NY, NY 1002
Make sure to check the hours – this is on the outside of a gallery on the security grate so you need to make sure it’s down! We were a bit bummed out that there was graffiti all over it, but sadly that just happens when it comes to street art, no matter where in the world you are.
Stop 3
Peretz Square
Houston and 1st Ave
This was on the outside of a construction trailer so I’m not sure how long it will be there! But, it matched my dress, so I had to snap a photo in front of it! I just couldn’t resist!
Stop 4
by Chloe.
240 Lafayette Street, NY, NY 10012
This one is actually located about two stores down from here but I can’t find the name of the establishment (it’s right near By Chloe)! It’s on the outside of a tiny coffee shop! And it’s a great little stop to snap a photo and grab a snack!
Stop 5
250 Mulberry Street, NY, NY
This mural in New York is located on the side of a shoe store. It’s pretty easy to find as it takes up an entire side of a building!
Stop 6
30 Prince Street, NY, NY
This is located on the wall on the side of Prince Bakery. The cupcakes inside of here are incredible, so definitely pop in there for a snack!
Stop 7
64 Macdougal Street NY, NY
If I remember correctly, this mural was on the side of a barbershop! Making all of these stops didn’t take too long! This whole walk is about 1.8 miles long!
Brooklyn
DUMBO
Yes, these are all from one mural! Make a pitstop here before walking over the Brooklyn Bridge, another super Instagrammable spot in New York City.
51 York Street, Brooklyn, NY
