My name is Taylor Fuller and I love tacos. Seriously. So much. They are my favorite food in the entire world and I try to find them wherever I go. But, to this day, my favorite taco place has to be bartaco. It just holds a special place in my heart. And, this past weekend while I was visiting my best friend in Tampa, Florida, I was able to visit the bartaco Hyde Park Village location.
And let me tell you. It was amazing. I usually frequent the Port Chester, NY location (and I will definitely be making a visit when I’m up in New York in November), but I was happy to check out another location of theirs. bartaco Hyde Park Village is perfect. And I don’t say that lightly. I’ve always been curious to see how the other locations of my favorite restaurant looked, and I was so happy to see the design that I love so much replicated.
But, even though bartaco Hyde Park Village has the same design as bartaco Port Chester, the two restaurants are so different from one another. And while the color scheme and general laid-backness of the place (think white washed walls, beachy vibes, and woven basket light fixtures) has been carried over, it felt like I was in a different place altogether. Firstly, I learned that the photographs are all taken by one of the owners. This means that original artwork covers the walls. And, the best part about this artwork is that it inspires wanderlust (which you know I’m all about).
Dining at bartaco Hyde Park Village
The main reason that I visited bartaco Hyde Park Village was to try their new secret taco. Every couple of months bartaco releases a new secret taco. It’s not listed on the menu, and you have to write it in when you’re ordering. They have had several different secret tacos over the last several months. And as you know, I was so in love with the last one I tried (the crispy avocado), so I wasn’t expecting the new one to top that. Oh, but it did.
And the new secret taco is (drumroll please)…. Ancho Ahi Tuna. And despite it being wrapped up in lettuce, it is surprisingly hearty. The taco is filled with seared, crusted tuna, and asian slaw. It’s wrapped up on Bibb lettuce and absolutely delicious. I wanted to order more (but I didn’t because I was so full after eating all of my other favorites: duck, fried oyster, and Baja fish).
Make sure you head to your nearest location to try this magical taco before its gone! bartaco has locations in New York, Connecticut, Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, and Georgia.
