Hi, my name is Taylor and I am obsessed with Harry Potter. Seriously. Obsessed. The books are my favorite and gave me my love of reading. The movies have added so much more magic into my life. I mean, I even have a Deathly Hallows tattoo… So, when Musement reached out to me to pick a London experience with them, I jumped at it when I saw their selection of Harry Potter Studio Tours and Activities in London.
Heading to the WB Studio Tour was something I have been dying to do for years so I knew I had to choose that as my Musement activity. And before we get into my amazing day exploring Hogwarts, I think you’ll love to learn a bit more about Museument!

Harry Potter Studio Tour
Getting There
So now, that we’ve covered Musement, it’s time to talk about the Harry Potter Studio Tour! I booked onto the Warner Brothers Studio Tour London, The Making of Harry Potter with Transportation. The ticket costs 89 pounds and includes round trip transportation. While you can purchase a ticket for less directly from the WB Studio Tour website, I think that booking onto a tour with transportation makes things way easier. Especially if you’re visiting London and don’t want to worry about figuring out the train/overground. Instead, you’ll be picked up in central London by Victoria Station, where you’ll get on a luxury coach bus. The journey takes about an hour and you’ll be able to watch a bit of one of the Harry Potter movies during your ride!
When you board the bus, the driver will give you your tickets and a voucher for your return transportation. Make sure to hold onto it and to arrive back to the same place you were dropped off 15 minutes before departure time! Our tour left Victoria Station at 9:15 AM. We arrived to the studio tour for a 10:30 entrance and we’re picked up at 3 PM.
While You’re There!
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get emotional during my visit to the Harry Potter Studio Tour. At one point, while wandering down Diagon Alley, I nearly shed a tear.
The fact is, if you’re a huge Harry Potter fan, you’re going to feel overwhelmed during your visit. So, here are some tips to really get the most out of it and utilize your time correctly!
1. Don’t Book a tour during half term!
If you’re traveling during half term, you’re going to pressed for time inside of the tour. We went on a weekday the week before half term began. We avoided the crowds this way and were able to see and do everything inside of the tour. If you go during half term, you need to keep an eye on your watch so that you have enough time to see everything.
2. There are two large rooms separated by the Back Lot.
The tour begins with a little movie. Afterwards you’ll enter the Great Hall. A large room with several sets and props is connected to this and you need at least an hour and a half to get through it all. In this area you’ll see the Gryffindor Common Room, Potions Classroom, Dumbledore’s Study, and more. There are placards all over the place with really fun facts about the movies so make sure you read them!
You’ll travel through the Forbidden Forest and into King’s Cross Station where you can board the Hogwarts Express. Then, you’ll get to the Back Lot. This is a good place to pause for food and a bathroom break! It’s also where you can visit 4 Privet Drive, the famous Hogwarts Bridge, and see the Knight Bus.
Afterwards, you’ll head through the Creature room, the goblin makeup area, and then onto Gringotts. Then you’ll head to Diagon Alley and onto the room which houses the gorgeous Hogwarts model.
3. Pack your own lunch if you want to save some money!
There are two areas where you can buy food at the Harry Potter Studio Tour. One is at the beginning/end of tour, and the other is in the Back Lot. I don’t think the prices are that outrageous as you can order hot dogs, burgers, and sandwiches. However, there is no rule against bringing your own food in. Keep in mind there aren’t any places to refill water bottles.
4. Enjoy the magic!
I had the most magical experience during my visit and I can honestly say that I would go back over and over again. The tour is totally worth the price tag and not having to worry about shuttling myself back and forth made it so much easier. Harry Potter truly comes to life throughout your time there and you learn so much about the process that went into this incredible series. So, make sure you take a minute to enjoy the magic of it all!
