I’m usually all about the budget hotel or finding a great deal, but sometimes, you’ve just got to live. After scouring the usual sites like hotels.com and Expedia, we decided that staying on site at Universal Studios would be the easiest thing to do. We decided on the Cabana Bay Beach Resort because it was still relatively affordable while providing the amenities you’d get at one of the other Loews Universal hotels.
Think retro meets family fun. The resort features two pools and a lazy river. There are a number of places to eat, like a poolside grill and an old school cafeteria where commercials from the fifties play on loop on huge screens. You can choose from a number of different cuisines like Italian, American and more.
Fancy a bowl? Why don’t you head upstairs to the Galaxy Bowling Alley. The bowling alley can be found next to the gym, available for use by all hotel guests.
Walk around the hotel and pretend you’re living in the 50s with the different themed hotel buildings and the mod hotel rooms. You should definitely check it out… You won’t be disappointed!
And when you’re ready to head over to Universal Studios, hop on the shuttle (it looks like an old school bus!), that runs all day and into the night. The bus comes about every 15 minutes, so you’ll never have to wait long. It’s located minutes from the park so you won’t have to put off the fun that comes with visiting all of the parks.
