There’s so much to see in this world and a lot of that is in the sea. And diving gives you the chance to explore stretches of the world you only could dream about seeing. PADI Women’s Dive Day is coming up on July 15, 2017. It’s a day where PADI divers – both male and female alike – will unite around the world through hundreds of different events to celebrate female divers. It’s also meant to narrow the gender gap in diving, because there are so many women who can, and do, dive and kick ass at it. And to piggyback on recent movements around the world that are empowering women to find their “fearless female” within, Women’s Dive Day is an IRL “Mermaid Movement,” if you will!
Last year, PADI Dive Centers and Resorts around the world set up more than 700 events across 77 different countries. So with this year’s event on the horizon, make sure to see if you can find an event near you and use these women divers as inspiration to get in the water.
Female Divers Who Will Inspire You
A PADI Diver is someone who is an ambassador to the ocean. They love to explore and go on adventures and most importantly, they care about the world and our oceans. They’ve been trained and educated about diving to the highest standards for safety and performance. Plus, PADI Divers make up the world’s largest group of passionate divers (there are MILLIONS of PADI divers around the world and 133,000 PADI professionals in 186 countries and more than 6,400 dive centers and resorts around the world). So check out some of those divers and see what they get up to underwater!
